Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in overseeing cost management and contract administration for construction and infrastructure projects. This position requires a professional with a strong understanding of project budgets, valuations, tendering processes, and cost reporting. The ideal candidate will be able to support project teams by ensuring financial accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations throughout all project phases.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections aligned with project specifications and timelines.

• Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring compliance with legal and financial terms.

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and verify that work completed is consistent with valuations and project forecasts.

• Manage the measurement and valuation of variations, claims, and additional works to maintain budget integrity.

• Liaise with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment of financial strategies with construction plans.

• Produce monthly cost reports and present financial updates to stakeholders for effective decision-making.

• Provide support in tender preparation, bid analysis, and post-tender negotiations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

• Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract used in the industry.

• Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office, particularly Excel.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

• Membership with RICS or equivalent professional body is an advantage.
