Senior Planning Engineer

The Senior Planning Engineer plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of large-scale engineering and construction projects by developing and managing detailed project schedules, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring timely delivery in compliance with UAE construction regulations. The role demands a thorough understanding of project planning tools, risk assessment, and cost control techniques. The engineer will serve as a key liaison between project managers, site teams, and stakeholders, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timeline adherence for efficient project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent software.

• Analyze project scope, milestones, and deliverables to develop accurate planning strategies.

• Monitor and report project progress against baseline schedules and recommend corrective actions.

• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and consultants to align planning and execution.

• Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and mitigation strategies.

• Support cost estimation, budgeting, and resource allocation aligned with the project timeline.

• Prepare and present periodic project performance reports for stakeholders and management.

• Integrate procurement and logistics schedules with the overall project timeline.

• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, labor laws, and health & safety regulations.

• Mentor junior planning staff and ensure consistent application of planning standards and practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in planning within the construction or engineering industry.

• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other project planning tools.

• Strong knowledge of UAE construction regulations and local authority requirements.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
