Job Profile: Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer – Water Treatment Packages
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development:
o Identify and target potential clients within various sectors such as industrial,
municipal, commercial, and residential.
o Generate leads and manage the entire sales process from prospecting to
closing.
o Develop long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and
offering customized water treatment solutions.
o Present and demonstrate the company’s products and solutions to customers,
highlighting their benefits and competitive advantages.
2. Technical Consultation:
o Provide technical expertise on water treatment systems, including filtration,
reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), wastewater treatment, and other
related technologies.
o Assess customer requirements and recommend suitable water treatment
packages based on their needs, budget, and environmental regulations.
o Conduct site surveys, technical evaluations, and feasibility studies to determine
the best solution for clients.
o Prepare and deliver technical proposals, including pricing, timelines, and
specifications.
3. Project Coordination:
o Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure that the proposed
water treatment systems are designed, installed, and operated according to
customer specifications.
o Monitor project timelines and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
o Support the project team during the commissioning phase, ensuring the system
is operating correctly and meeting customer expectations.
4. Market Research & Industry Knowledge:
o Keep up to date with trends in the water treatment industry, including new
technologies, regulations, and competitors’ offerings.
o Identify market opportunities and assist in creating marketing strategies.
o Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to network and expand
business opportunities. 5. Customer Support & After-Sales Service:
o Provide ongoing customer support post-sale, ensuring customer satisfaction
and fostering repeat business.
o Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with water treatment systems or
equipment, providing recommendations for system upgrades or improvements.
o Help in maintaining the service contracts and supporting customers with
preventive maintenance, spare parts, or system modifications.
6. Reporting & Documentation:
o Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for management and
stakeholders.
o Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, proposals, contracts, and
project updates.
o Ensure all technical documentation is up to date and accessible for future
reference
Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Background:
o Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
o Additional certifications or training in water treatment or environmental
technologies is a plus.
Technical Skills:
o Strong understanding of water treatment technologies such as RO, UF,
membrane filtration, wastewater treatment, etc.
o Familiarity with water quality standards, environmental regulations, and
industry best practices.
o Knowledge of pump systems, chemical dosing systems, and instrumentation
commonly used in water treatment processes.
Sales & Communication Skills:
o Proven track record in B2B sales or technical sales, ideally in water treatment or
similar industries.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present technical
products to non-technical clients.
o Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into solutions.
o Negotiation skills and experience in closing complex sales deals. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
o Ability to conduct technical assessments, understand complex system
requirements, and propose appropriate solutions.
o Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with water
treatment systems.
Project Management:
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and
client expectations are met.
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
2-5 years of experience in sales or business development in the water treatment or
environmental sector.
Experience with water treatment package systems, pumps, filtration technologies, or
wastewater treatment systems.
Knowledge of industry regulations and certifications, such as ISO standards, EPA
regulations, and local environmental compliance laws.
Work Environment:
Primarily office-based, with regular travel required to client sites for technical
assessments, presentations, and follow-ups.
Site visits for installation or post-sales support may be required.
