Job Description

As a Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare system by performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients. Your responsibilities will include operating X-ray and other imaging equipment to create clear and accurate images of the inside of the body. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to analyze these images and provide findings to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Attention to detail, technical skills, and a strong understanding of anatomy and imaging techniques are essential for success in this role. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and excellent communication skills when interacting with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding throughout the imaging process. A degree in radiologic technology and certification/licensure are typically required for this position.


Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain the best images for diagnosis.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure they meet diagnostic criteria.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers to discuss imaging results and collaborate on patient care.
  • Assist in the administration of contrast agents for certain imaging procedures.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation of all procedures performed.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in imaging technology and techniques through continuing education and training.
  • Provide care and support to patients during imaging procedures to ensure their comfort and well-being.
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and equipment
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
