Job Description

The Quantity Surveyor (Steel Structure) is responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration related to steel structure projects. This includes preparing bills of quantities, evaluating subcontractor claims, and supporting tendering processes, all while ensuring compliance with UAE construction regulations. The role requires close coordination with engineering, procurement, and site teams to deliver accurate and cost-effective project outcomes within established timelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities (BOQ) specifically for steel structure works.

  • Evaluating technical drawings, material specifications, and structural details to determine project scope and costs.

  • Monitoring and controlling project budgets, identifying variations, and preparing cost impact assessments.

  • Reviewing, negotiating, and validating subcontractor and supplier quotations related to steel fabrication and erection.

  • Supporting contract preparation, including payment terms, milestone definitions, and risk allocation.

  • Managing interim valuations, progress claims, and final account settlements.

  • Preparing cost reports and financial forecasts to assist with project planning and decision-making.

  • Ensuring adherence to UAE construction laws, local authority standards (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Trakhees), and health and safety regulations.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 4–6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on steel structure projects, preferably in the UAE or GCC.

  • Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection methods, and related cost factors.

  • Proficient in quantity take-off software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Excel.

  • Familiarity with FIDIC and other standard contract forms used in UAE construction projects.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

  • Valid UAE driving license preferred for site visits and client meetings.
