Maintenance Technician - Elevators and Escalators

The Maintenance Technician – Elevators and Escalators will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of vertical transportation systems within residential, commercial, and public infrastructure across the UAE. Working under strict adherence to UAE safety codes and municipality regulations, this technician ensures the safe and smooth operation of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. The role requires hands-on technical skills, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to respond quickly to service calls.

Responsibilities:

• Performing scheduled preventive maintenance on elevators, escalators, and related equipment as per manufacturer and local safety guidelines.

• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system faults, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.

• Responding to emergency breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and executing prompt corrective repairs.

• Inspecting and testing safety features and system performance to ensure full compliance with UAE safety codes (e.g., Dubai Civil Defence, Abu Dhabi QCC).

• Maintaining accurate service records, logs, and maintenance documentation for authority and internal audits.

• Coordinating with supervisors, contractors, and building management to communicate work progress and ensure client satisfaction.

• Ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards, using proper PPE and safety measures at job sites.

• Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new elevator and escalator systems when required.

Requirements:

• Diploma or ITI certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in elevator and escalator maintenance, with proven knowledge of major brands (e.g., Otis, KONE, Schindler, Thyssenkrupp).

• Valid UAE driving license is preferred for on-site mobility.

• Strong understanding of UAE safety standards, municipality inspection protocols, and maintenance documentation requirements.

• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Good physical stamina, with comfort working at heights or in confined spaces.

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic or knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
