Kitchen Helper

The Kitchen Helper supports the kitchen staff by performing basic tasks essential to food preparation and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role operates in a fast-paced commercial kitchen within the UAE hospitality or food service sector and plays a key part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and compliance with hygiene standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically fit, and able to follow instructions efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting chefs and cooks with ingredient preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.

• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to food safety standards.

• Organizing and storing food supplies in designated storage areas.

• Ensuring garbage is properly disposed of and kitchen waste areas are maintained clean.

• Supporting with basic food assembly and plating under supervision.

• Refilling supplies and ensuring kitchen stations are stocked throughout service hours.

• Complying with all health, hygiene, and safety regulations set by UAE authorities.

• Reporting any equipment malfunction or safety concern to supervisors promptly.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Previous experience in a kitchen, cafeteria, or food service environment is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.

• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment.

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
