The Fire Design and Estimation Engineer is responsible for designing, estimating, and planning fire protection systems for various construction projects, ensuring they meet both safety standards and client specifications. This role involves working closely with engineering teams, architects, and contractors to create effective fire protection solutions while ensuring compliance with local fire safety regulations and international standards. The engineer will also manage the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and resource allocation for fire safety projects.
Responsibilities:
Designing fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, smoke detection, and suppression systems, for both new and retrofit projects.
Collaborating with project teams, including architects and contractors, to integrate fire safety solutions into building designs.
Preparing detailed fire protection system designs, including schematics, layouts, and technical specifications, in compliance with local regulations and international codes.
Estimating project costs, including materials, labor, and equipment, and preparing comprehensive bids for clients.
Conducting site visits to assess existing fire safety infrastructure and propose improvements or upgrades.
Reviewing and interpreting project specifications and fire safety regulations to ensure designs meet safety, quality, and budgetary requirements.
Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and installation of fire protection systems.
Providing technical support during the installation and commissioning stages of fire safety systems, ensuring they are functioning as per design specifications.
Ensuring compliance with UAE fire safety regulations, including local civil defense codes and standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
4–6 years of experience in fire protection system design and estimation, preferably within the UAE or GCC.
In-depth knowledge of fire safety standards, codes, and regulations, including UAE Civil Defense requirements and international fire protection codes (e.g., NFPA).
Experience in preparing detailed fire protection system designs, cost estimates, and project proposals.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and fire protection system calculation tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
