Echo Cardiographer

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms to visualize and analyze the structure and function of the heart.
• Interpret echocardiographic images to assist in the diagnosis of heart conditions.
• Record measurement data, such as chamber dimensions, wall thickness, and valve function.
• Maintain and operate echocardiography equipment, ensuring proper functioning and quality imaging.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely reports.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure patient comfort and well-being during procedures.
• Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) as needed.
• Keep accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
• Stay current with advancements in echocardiography technology and techniques.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure high standards of patient care and accuracy in diagnostic imaging.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or a related field.
• Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) preferred.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of echocardiography procedures and equipment.
• Proficiency in performing echocardiograms and interpreting results.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
