Job Description

A Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems and firefighting equipment. They ensure that all systems are functioning properly to protect lives and property in case of emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain fire alarm systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers and emergency lights.
• Respond to emergency calls to troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems.
• Provide training to building occupants on fire safety procedures.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on fire suppression systems.
• Keep accurate records of all inspections and maintenance work.
• Stay up-to-date on fire safety codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with other team members on fire safety projects.
• Recommend upgrades to existing fire alarm and firefighting systems.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a fire alarm technician training program is preferred.
• Valid certification in fire alarm systems is necessary.
• Experience in the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems is a must.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations.
