Technician - Door system

The Technician – Door System is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various automated and manual door systems, including sliding doors, roller shutters, sectional doors, and access control systems. This role ensures the door systems operate smoothly, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

Responsibilities:

• Install and commission door systems as per technical specifications

• Perform regular maintenance and servicing of automatic and manual doors

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in door systems

• Conduct safety checks and ensure systems comply with relevant standards

• Coordinate with clients to schedule service visits and explain technical findings

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and issues identified

• Ensure proper functioning of access control and safety sensors in automated doors

• Support emergency callouts and respond to breakdowns promptly

• Advise clients on system upgrades and preventive maintenance plans

• Adhere to company safety policies and ensure safe working practices at all times

Requirements:

• High school diploma or technical certification in electrical/mechanical engineering

• Proven experience in door system installation and maintenance

• Good understanding of electrical wiring, motors, and control systems

• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Flexibility to handle on-call and weekend work if required
