Job Description

The Structural Inspector is responsible for overseeing and inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with structural design specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, and the ability to identify potential defects or inconsistencies in construction. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to maintain high construction standards and prevent structural failures. This position involves on-site inspections, documentation of findings, and providing recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.


Responsibilities:

  • conduct detailed inspections of structural components, including foundations, beams, columns, and slabs

  • verify compliance with approved structural drawings, specifications, and local building codes

  • identify and report any structural deficiencies, construction errors, or material defects

  • monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards

  • perform field tests and measurements to assess structural integrity and load-bearing capacity

  • review and interpret engineering plans, blueprints, and technical documents

  • collaborate with engineers and contractors to resolve structural issues and recommend corrective measures

  • document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate project records

  • ensure construction safety measures are followed and report any potential hazards

  • stay updated on industry standards, construction materials, and best practices in structural inspection


Requirements:

  • bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field

  • minimum of 5 years of experience in structural inspection or construction supervision

  • strong knowledge of structural design principles, building codes, and construction materials

  • proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

  • experience in using structural testing tools and inspection equipment

  • ability to identify construction defects and recommend effective solutions

  • excellent report-writing and communication skills

  • familiarity with UAE construction regulations and safety standards

  • certification in structural inspection or quality control is a plus

  • ability to work on construction sites in varying environmental conditions
