Structural Inspector -  Bridges

As a Structural Inspector specializing in bridges, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of bridge structures to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Your duties will include assessing structural integrity, identifying potential defects or hazardous conditions, and recommending maintenance or repair actions as needed. You will collaborate with engineering teams to develop inspection plans, analyze inspection data, and prepare detailed reports documenting your findings. Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction materials, and inspection techniques will be essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively. A degree in civil engineering or a related field, along with relevant certifications or licenses, is typically required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess bridge structures for compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct on-site inspections of bridge construction processes to ensure quality and adherence to regulations.
• Evaluate structural integrity and identify deficiencies or potential issues in bridge components.
• Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications related to bridge projects.
• Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports outlining any deviations or non-compliance issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve structural concerns.
• Perform load testing and structural analysis to assess the performance of bridge structures.
• Ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained for bridge construction activities.
• Monitor construction progress and provide recommendations for improvements or modifications as needed.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices to enhance inspection processes and maintain high standards of quality in bridge construction.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil or structural engineering with a focus on bridges.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis programs.
• Strong knowledge of codes and standards related to bridge design and inspection.
