Job Description
The Structural BIM Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining 3D structural models using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. They collaborate with architects and engineers to translate design concepts into detailed models and drawings. This role involves analyzing architectural and structural drawings, detecting clashes, and developing solutions. The structural BIM technician also generates reports, maintains project files, and assists in coordinating with project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Creating and updating 3D structural models using BIM software.
- Collaborating with architects and engineers to translate design concepts.
- Analyzing architectural and structural drawings and identifying clashes.
- Developing solutions and coordinating with design teams.
- Producing structural drawings and documentation.
- Conducting quality control checks on models and drawings.
- Generating reports and maintaining project files.
- Assisting in coordinating with project stakeholders.
- Keeping up-to-date with BIM software advancements and best practices.
- Ensuring compliance with project standards and requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related field.
- Proficiency in BIM software, such as Revit.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
