Job Description
The Shipping Manager will be responsible for overseeing the shipping and logistics operations of an organization. The role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills. The Shipping Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, such as vendors and customers, to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate shipping and logistics activities.
- Ensure that shipments are delivered on time and in accordance with customer requirements.
- Communicate with vendors, freight forwarders, and customs officials to coordinate transportation and resolve any issues.
- Monitor and track the movement of shipments.
- Optimize shipping processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as carriers and customs brokers.
- Identify and select appropriate shipping methods and routes.
- Resolve any shipping-related disputes or claims.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures.
- Prepare and analyze shipping performance reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in shipping and logistics or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
