Senior Procurement Engineer(Construction)

The Senior Procurement Engineer (Construction) is responsible for managing and executing the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for large-scale construction projects. This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant purchasing activities aligned with project timelines and UAE construction regulations. The position involves vendor management, technical evaluation, contract negotiation, and close coordination with engineering, planning, and commercial teams.

Responsibilities:

• Leading procurement activities for construction materials, services, and equipment in alignment with project specifications and budgets.

• Preparing and issuing RFQs, analyzing quotations, and conducting technical and commercial evaluations.

• Negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

• Coordinating with engineering and project management teams to verify material compatibility and approvals.

• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining vendor databases in accordance with prequalification and evaluation criteria.

• Ensuring all procurement documentation, including purchase orders and subcontracts, complies with UAE laws and internal policies.

• Managing relationships with local and international suppliers, ensuring adherence to project timelines and delivery milestones.

• Preparing procurement reports, tracking cost savings, and supporting claims or dispute resolution when needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• 6–8 years of procurement experience in the UAE construction industry, including high-value and fast-track projects.

• Proven expertise in sourcing construction materials and services with a solid understanding of technical specifications.

• Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of UAE contractual terms, trade compliance, and import/export procedures.

• Proficiency in procurement and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

• Familiarity with local authority requirements (e.g., Dubai Municipality, ADM, RTA) and construction regulations.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and vendor management skills.

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
