Senior Estimator

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects, analyzing project requirements, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimates. The Senior Estimator will also review and evaluate project plans and specifications, conduct site visits as needed, and utilize industry knowledge to provide cost-saving recommendations. Additionally, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills to effectively present and defend estimates to clients and senior management. A strong background in construction estimating, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project documents and specifications to determine scope of work and requirements.
• Develop cost estimates based on detailed material take-offs, labor requirements, subcontractor quotes, and other relevant factors.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing and availability of materials and services.
• Evaluate potential risks and opportunities for cost savings during the estimation process.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and submit to clients within specified deadlines.
• Review and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Provide support to project management teams during the construction phase with ongoing cost analysis and value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, change orders, and other relevant documentation for future reference and analysis.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive and accurate estimating.
• Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, design, and finance to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for construction projects.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software such as Sage Estimating, ProEst, or similar programs.
• Excellent understanding of construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to analyze data, create accurate cost estimates, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
