Job Description

The Senior BIM Technician (Healthcare) plays a key role in the development and implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for healthcare infrastructure projects. This position involves creating, managing, and coordinating BIM models that adhere to project-specific requirements, industry standards, and healthcare design guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise in BIM software, strong collaboration skills, and an understanding of healthcare facility design and operations. They will work closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure model accuracy and data integrity throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage accurate, detailed 3D BIM models for healthcare projects in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and convert them into coordinated BIM models.

  • Ensure that all models comply with client BIM standards and healthcare regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other consultants to resolve clashes and ensure design integrity.

  • Lead coordination meetings and provide model updates, reports, and visualizations for project reviews.

  • Manage file structures, naming conventions, and version control to ensure a well-organized BIM environment.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior BIM technicians and other project members.

  • Contribute to the development of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and ensure adherence throughout the project.

  • Integrate facility management data and support COBie deliverables for handover and operations.

  • Continuously stay updated with the latest BIM technologies and suggest improvements to workflows and standards.


Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM with at least 2 years focused on healthcare projects.

  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360.

  • Knowledge of healthcare design standards, codes, and space planning requirements.

  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and coordination workflows.

  • Familiarity with IFC, COBie standards, and BIM Level 2/3 requirements.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead BIM coordination efforts and mentor junior team members.

  • Knowledge of other tools such as Dynamo, Solibri, or Enscape is an advantage.

  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
