Job Description

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Your expertise in accounting principles, financial analysis, and team leadership will be essential in driving effective financial operations and decision-making.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for achieving financial goals.
  • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and ensure they are recorded accurately.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and cost analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and assist in audits, providing required documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, reporting requirements, and internal control procedures.
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and manage banking relationships to optimize liquidity.
  • Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure tasks are delegated effectively and deadlines are met.
  • Utilize accounting software and financial systems to manage financial data efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to achieve organizational goals.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CMA, CPA, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for financial analysis and reconciliation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills to supervise and guide accounting staff.
  • Adaptability to changing financial regulations and business needs.
  • Familiarity with UAE tax regulations and VAT implementation is advantageous.
