Second Officer - Vessel Operations

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Second Officer to join our Vessel Operations team. The Second Officer will be responsible for assisting in the safe navigation and operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Additionally, the Second Officer will be involved in maintaining accurate navigational charts and logs, as well as assisting in the supervision of junior deck crew members. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a keen attention to detail. A relevant maritime qualification and prior experience in a similar role are required. Join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our vessels.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Officer in ensuring safe navigation of the vessel.
• Oversee maintenance and inspection of deck equipment and machinery.
• Monitor and supervise cargo operations, including loading, stowage, and discharge.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of safety and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training for the crew.
• Maintain accurate records of navigational activities and communicate with shore-based personnel.
• Assist in crew management and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Keep abreast of industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
• Participate in onboard security measures and emergency response planning.
• Support the Chief Officer in various administrative tasks related to vessel operations.

• Must possess a valid STCW II/1 Officer of the Watch license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role on vessels above 50 meters
• Proficiency in navigation systems and understanding of maritime regulations
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure
