Job Description

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will be responsible for providing care and support to newborn infants who require intensive medical attention. Your duties will involve monitoring vital signs, administering medications, feeding, and providing emotional support to families during difficult times. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of premature or ill newborns, utilizing your specialized skills in neonatal care. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and strong communication skills are essential in this role to deliver high-quality care to the most fragile patients. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to newborn infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Monitor vital signs, assess patient condition, and administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each infant.
  • Educate parents on neonatal care practices, feeding techniques, and discharge instructions.
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, suctioning, and cardiorespiratory monitoring.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe environment for neonatal patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in medical records.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings, and continuing education to stay updated on best practices in neonatal nursing.
  • Provide emotional support to families during their infant's hospitalization and facilitate communication with healthcare providers.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice to ensure high-quality patient care.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
