Job Description

As a Receiving Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the receiving and inspection of goods and materials in a timely and efficient manner. Your duties will include verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments, checking for damaged or missing items, and ensuring that all deliveries comply with the necessary documentation and quality standards. You will collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve any issues or discrepancies in a professional and proactive manner. Additionally, maintaining organized and accurate records of all incoming shipments, tracking inventory levels, and coordinating with other team members to ensure smooth logistics operations are key aspects of this role. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders.
  • Inspect and record the condition of received items and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Organize and store received items in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry of received items into inventory management system.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to schedule deliveries and resolve any issues with shipments.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of shipments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, including proper disposal of packaging materials.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies with supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and accounting departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure accurate payment processing.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in receiving and inventory management preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and understanding of inventory management systems
