Job Description

As a Procurement Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the company's purchasing of materials and services required for construction projects. Your main duties will include identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, evaluating proposals, and ensuring all purchases meet quality standards and budgetary requirements. You will collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to determine the materials needed for each project, and work towards securing them in a timely and cost-effective manner. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent negotiation abilities are essential for this role. Additionally, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise is crucial. A degree in engineering or a related field, along with relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management, is typically required for this position.


Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability criteria.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet cost reduction and efficiency targets.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and conditions to identify potential opportunities or risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering and project management to ensure procurement requirements are met.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Resolve supplier performance issues and conflicts to maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and ethical practices.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or related field.
