Process Project Engineer

The Process Project Engineer will be responsible for leading and executing process engineering aspects of capital and operational projects within industrial facilities, refineries, or manufacturing plants in the UAE. This role combines process design, technical coordination, and project management to ensure safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant implementation of process improvements or new installations. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the engineer will contribute to achieving performance, quality, and environmental goals aligned with UAE industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and reviewing process design packages, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and technical specifications.

• Leading process-related elements of capital projects from conceptual design through to commissioning and handover.

• Conducting feasibility studies, process simulations, and optimization activities to enhance system efficiency and safety.

• Coordinating with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and construction to ensure seamless project execution.

• Ensuring all project activities comply with UAE environmental, safety, and industrial regulations (e.g., ADNOC, EHSMS, and ISO standards).

• Managing project schedules, budgets, and documentation, ensuring alignment with client and organizational expectations.

• Supporting HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL studies and implementing corrective actions based on risk assessments.

• Providing technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases of process systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas, chemical, or industrial sectors; UAE/GCC experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) and engineering standards.

• Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks including ADNOC standards, environmental permitting, and safety codes.

• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary projects and communicate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.

• PMP certification or equivalent project management training is an advantage.

• Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is a plus for liaising with local authorities.
