Planning Engineer

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Planning Engineer to join our project management team. This role is critical to the successful execution of engineering and construction projects, requiring expertise in project scheduling, progress tracking, and resource planning. The ideal candidate will play a key role in coordinating various project phases, identifying potential delays or risks, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with planning software tools are essential to succeed in this position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using recognized planning software tools, ensuring alignment with project objectives

• Monitor and report on project progress, timelines, and deliverables while identifying any deviations from the original plan

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather project data and support planning needs

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports, including project timelines, resource allocation, and progress analysis

• Forecast potential delays and bottlenecks, providing mitigation strategies to maintain project efficiency

• Coordinate and attend project meetings, offering insights and recommendations based on the latest planning data

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies or areas for schedule optimization

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

• At least 3 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the engineering or construction industry

• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools

• Solid understanding of project management principles, construction workflows, and resource planning

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• PMP or similar project management certification is an added advantage
