Job Description

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and managing project schedules to ensure timely and efficient completion of construction projects. They will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to create detailed plans, monitor progress, and identify any deviations from the project schedule. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, and have a solid understanding of project scheduling techniques.


Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project schedules using project management software and techniques.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to identify project requirements and milestones.
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, incorporating all necessary activities and dependencies.
  • Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying and resolving any deviations or delays.
  • Analyze potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate any disruptions to the project schedule.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure adherence to the project schedule.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project budgets and resource allocation plans.
  • Generate reports and presentations to communicate project status and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and ensure alignment on project schedules.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in project scheduling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling for construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling techniques and software.
  • Proficient in project management software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and materials.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
