Pipeline Engineer

The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining oil and gas pipelines. They collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, regulators, and environmental specialists, to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of hydrocarbons. The Pipeline Engineer conducts feasibility studies, develops engineering designs, and oversees pipeline construction and maintenance activities. They also monitor pipeline integrity, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation measures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies to determine the most suitable route and capacity for a pipeline.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs and specifications for pipeline construction.
• Collaborate with environmental specialists to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors and surveyors to oversee pipeline construction activities.
• Conduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Monitor pipeline integrity and implement maintenance programs to prevent leaks or failures.
• Identify and assess potential risks, such as corrosion, erosion, or damage from third parties.
• Develop and implement measures to mitigate risks and ensure pipeline safety.
• Prepare documentation, including reports and drawings, for project documentation and permits.
• Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies in pipeline engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in pipeline design, construction, or operation, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Knowledge of pipeline design software and relevant engineering standards.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices in pipeline construction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
