Job Description

The Pharmacy Purchase Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of pharmaceutical products and supplies for a healthcare organization. This role involves overseeing the purchase process, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products. The manager will also be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, monitoring market trends, and optimizing purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings while meeting quality standards.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the organization's pharmaceutical needs.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of pharmaceutical products.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  • Optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts and reduce carrying costs.
  • Conduct regular audits of supplier performance and quality assurance.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions to determine appropriate procurement methods.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team.
  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy procurement, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical products and sourcing strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.
