Job Description

The Pharmacy Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of a pharmacy, ensuring the highest level of customer service, and adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, maintaining inventory levels, implementing quality assurance measures, and fostering positive relationships with patients and healthcare providers. The Pharmacy Manager is also responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue, optimize workflow, and ensure efficient and effective pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a PharmD degree, be licensed as a pharmacist, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. Previous experience in a managerial role within a pharmacy setting is preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including dispensing medication, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe pharmaceutical services.
  • Monitor and evaluate prescription orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and outcomes.
  • Maintain relationships with drug wholesalers, manufacturers, and insurance companies to ensure timely and cost-effective medication procurement.
  • Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve pharmacy services and patient satisfaction.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new medications, and developments in pharmaceutical technology.
  • Manage pharmacy budget, expenses, and revenue generation, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Ensure the pharmacy complies with all regulatory requirements, including licensing, accreditation, and safety standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Licensed pharmacist in the respective state
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a pharmacy setting
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, regulations, and standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
