Payment Systems Application Consultant

The Payment Systems Application Consultant is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of payment applications across financial and banking systems. This role ensures the reliability, security, and compliance of payment software solutions while aligning them with business needs. The consultant will work closely with IT, operations, compliance, and vendor teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance system performance, and manage upgrades. The position requires in-depth knowledge of payment technologies, regulatory frameworks, and integration protocols within the UAE financial ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for payment systems.

• Manage the end-to-end implementation of payment applications and ensure seamless integration with banking infrastructure.

• Monitor and maintain the performance and availability of payment processing systems.

• Coordinate with software vendors and internal IT teams for patch updates and version upgrades.

• Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with UAE Central Bank regulations and security protocols.

• Provide second- and third-level support for payment application incidents and service requests.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project timelines and deliverables.

• Develop test plans, conduct system testing, and ensure successful deployments with minimal disruption.

• Deliver user training and create comprehensive documentation for system usage and procedures.

• Evaluate new payment technologies and recommend enhancements based on market trends and business needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing and supporting payment systems in banking or financial services.

• In-depth knowledge of SWIFT, ISO 20022, RTGS, ACH, card processing, and payment gateways.

• Strong understanding of compliance standards such as PCI-DSS and UAE Central Bank regulations.

• Proficiency in scripting, database management, and integration tools (e.g., APIs, middleware).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage incident escalations efficiently.
