Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Patient Coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient healthcare experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, coordinating care between departments, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in person, over the phone, or via email, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-ups, and medical procedures.
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure accuracy in patient information.
  • Coordinate between doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to facilitate seamless patient care.
  • Verify insurance details, process billing information, and assist with pre-authorizations as required.
  • Educate patients on procedures, treatment plans, and required documentation.
  • Handle patient complaints, resolve issues promptly, or escalate to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations regarding patient privacy and data protection.
  • Monitor and manage appointment cancellations, reschedules, and waitlist patients to optimize clinic efficiency.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a medical office, hospital, or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical scheduling software.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.
