As a Patient Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support within a healthcare setting. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and addressing patient inquiries. This role requires strong communication skills to interact with patients and other healthcare professionals effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining patient records accurately and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.
  • Greet and check-in patients upon arrival at the office.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary co-pays or payments.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries or concerns.
  • Assist with patient registration and updating patient information in the system.
  • Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Ensure patient medical records are accurately documented and filed.
  • Educate patients on office procedures, policies, and services.
  • Assist with insurance claims processing and billing as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area for a welcoming patient experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field.
  • Certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
