As a Patient Admission Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the admission process for patients entering healthcare facilities. Your duties will include verifying patient demographic information, obtaining insurance details, and collecting necessary documentation. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure a smooth admission process. Additionally, you will be tasked with explaining admission procedures, answering patient queries, and maintaining accurate records of admissions. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate the admission process for patients entering the healthcare facility.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately.

  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and obtained for the admission process.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as nursing, finance, and medical records to ensure a smooth admission process.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating transportation for patients as needed.
  • Provide support and information to patients regarding their rights and responsibilities during the admission process.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
  • Monitor bed availability and work closely with nursing staff to facilitate patient placement.
  • Participate in training and continuing education to stay informed about changes in admission policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in admissions or patient services.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
