Paediatric Emergency Nurse

The Paediatric Emergency Nurse is responsible for providing immediate and specialized nursing care to children experiencing medical emergencies in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing pediatric patients in critical situations, collaborating closely with pediatricians, emergency doctors, and other healthcare professionals. The Paediatric Emergency Nurse must adhere to strict clinical guidelines, UAE healthcare regulations, and deliver care in a compassionate, child-friendly manner.

Responsibilities:

• Providing rapid assessment and initial treatment to pediatric patients in emergency situations, ensuring timely and effective care.

• Collaborating with pediatricians, emergency physicians, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement treatment plans for children in critical conditions.

• Administering medications, fluids, and emergency interventions as prescribed while monitoring the patient’s condition closely.

• Managing trauma cases, respiratory distress, seizures, and other pediatric emergencies, ensuring that appropriate interventions are delivered swiftly.

• Ensuring that all medical records are accurately maintained and updated in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.

• Educating families about the condition, treatment plan, and providing emotional support to reduce anxiety during medical emergencies.

• Adhering to infection control practices and maintaining a safe environment for pediatric patients.

• Participating in continuous professional development and training programs to stay up-to-date with pediatric emergency nursing practices and UAE healthcare standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent; a pediatric nursing certification is highly desirable.

• Valid DHA nursing license .

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1–2 years in pediatric emergency or critical care settings.

• Extensive knowledge of pediatric care, emergency interventions, and age-specific treatments for children.

• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both children and their families, providing clear instructions and emotional support.

• Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and professionally.

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
