Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the Maternal Newborn and Labour unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, managing nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced maternity care environment.


Responsibilities:

  • oversee daily operations of the maternal newborn and labour unit to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care
  • manage and lead a team of nurses, midwives, and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols
  • monitor and evaluate patient care practices to maintain high standards of clinical excellence
  • develop and implement policies and procedures for maternal and newborn care services
  • coordinate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes
  • oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a well-equipped nursing team
  • manage department budgets, supplies, and resources efficiently
  • implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and safety
  • provide support and guidance to families, ensuring clear communication and compassionate care


Requirements:

  • bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) is required; a master's degree in nursing, healthcare management, or a related field is preferred
  • valid nursing license and eligibility to practice in the UAE
  • minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maternal and newborn nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • strong knowledge of labour and delivery procedures, postpartum care, and neonatal nursing
  • excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • ability to handle emergency situations and make critical decisions under pressure
  • familiarity with healthcare accreditation standards and quality improvement processes
  • experience in staff training, development, and mentorship
  • proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
