Network Engineer

The Network Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's network infrastructure. Responsibilities include designing and deploying functional networks, configuring and installing various network devices and services, monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues, ensuring network security, and collaborating with team members to optimize network performance. The Network Engineer must possess strong knowledge of networking protocols, security protocols, hardware, and software. They should also have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. A successful candidate for this role should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, along with relevant certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+. Experience with network monitoring tools and firewall technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and support network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
• Troubleshoot network performance issues and address network security concerns.
• Configure and maintain networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure connectivity and compatibility with various systems.
• Implement network monitoring tools and analyze network traffic to optimize performance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end users for network-related issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network engineering.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to network configurations and procedures.
• Participate in network upgrades, expansions, and disaster recovery planning.
• Conduct regular network assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.

• - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field - Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) - Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and network security - Experience with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
