Job Description
A Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks in an organization. They work closely with IT teams to ensure network infrastructure meets the business requirements and operates at optimum performance. The engineer is also responsible for troubleshooting network issues, performing network upgrades, and ensuring network security measures are in place. Additionally, they collaborate with vendors and service providers to deploy and maintain network equipment and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement computer networks based on business requirements
- Configure and optimize network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues
- Perform network upgrades and ensure network availability and scalability
- Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for network deployment and maintenance
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures
- Provide technical support to end-users for network-related inquiries
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Network Engineer
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure design and implementation
- Experience with network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, VPN)
- Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are preferred
