Job Description

The MEP Technician plays a critical role in the maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within various buildings and facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving issues related to HVAC systems, electrical circuits, plumbing fixtures, and other mechanical equipment. The technician is also responsible for conducting preventive maintenance to ensure all systems operate efficiently and safely. Additionally, they must adhere to safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation of work performed. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, proficiency in reading schematics, and relevant certifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues in MEP systems.
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with other technicians and contractors to ensure smooth functioning of MEP systems.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment needed for MEP systems.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades performed on MEP systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of MEP system upgrades and renovations.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in MEP technology and best practices for efficient system operations.
  • Diploma or Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in MEP systems installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting MEP drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards related to MEP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on MEP projects.
