Job Description

The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on construction projects. They work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the MEP systems meet the project requirements and comply with codes and standards.


Responsibilities

  • Perform MEP design calculations and prepare technical drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineers to ensure the integration of MEP systems with the overall building design.
  • Review and evaluate contractor-submitted MEP shop drawings and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor the installation progress and ensure compliance with the design.
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to resolve MEP-related issues during construction.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure the proper functioning of MEP systems.
  • Assist in preparing project cost estimates and budgets for MEP works.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and codes related to MEP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in MEP design and construction.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
