Medical Coder

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures, diagnoses, and treatments to ensure proper billing and compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• ensure coding accuracy and compliance with insurance and government regulations
• work closely with physicians and healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
• verify medical documentation and ensure completeness before submission
• assist in resolving coding discrepancies and insurance claim denials
• maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and industry changes
• generate reports and ensure correct reimbursement by insurance providers
• follow confidentiality policies and maintain patient data security

Requirements:

• certification as a medical coder 
• prior experience in medical coding, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting
• strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding, and medical terminology
• familiarity with insurance policies, reimbursement processes, and billing software
• attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy under deadlines
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals
