Mechanical Draftsman

A Mechanical Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and blueprints for mechanical components, systems, and equipment. They work closely with engineers and designers to translate conceptual designs into precise and functional drawings using CAD software. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, and the ability to interpret technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings and blueprints using CAD software

• Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and technical data to develop accurate designs

• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements

• Modify and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and clients

• Maintain and update drawing records and documentation for future reference

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company guidelines

• Perform calculations and measurements to validate designs and specifications

• Assist in developing bills of materials and technical documentation for manufacturing

• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure component specifications align with design requirements

• Stay updated on advancements in CAD software and mechanical design technologies

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software for mechanical drafting

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents

• Experience in creating 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models

• Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, ISO, or ANSI for mechanical drafting

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities

• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

• Prior experience in the manufacturing, construction, or engineering industries is preferred
