Materials Controller

The Materials Controller plays a vital role in the efficiency of the supply chain by ensuring the timely delivery and availability of materials required for production processes. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers to manage orders, and ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials. The Materials Controller is responsible for maintaining a well-organized warehouse, conducting regular inventory audits, and identifying opportunities for process improvements to optimize inventory management. Strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are essential for success in this role. A successful candidate will have prior experience in materials management, a solid understanding of supply chain principles, and proficiency in using inventory management software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records of all materials in stock
• Monitor stock levels and reorder materials as needed to ensure timely production
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Inspect received materials to ensure they meet quality standards
• Coordinate with production team to schedule material usage and delivery
• Implement and enforce proper storage and handling procedures for materials
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in material sourcing and usage
• Conduct regular audits of inventory to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
• Provide reports on material usage, inventory levels, and procurement costs
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize material flow and minimize waste.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience as a materials controller or similar role in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
