Job Description

The Manager of Crew Planning & Control will oversee and manage all aspects related to the scheduling and deployment of crew members within a specified organization. This individual will be responsible for creating efficient crew schedules to optimize productivity and ensure adequate coverage for operational needs. The Manager will work closely with various departments to forecast staffing requirements, allocate resources effectively, and maintain compliance with labor laws and regulations. Additionally, the Manager will be in charge of monitoring crew performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success in this role. Candidates should have a proven track record in crew planning and control, as well as relevant leadership experience in a similar capacity.


Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for the scheduling and assignment of crew members to flights in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and implement crew planning strategies to ensure optimal coverage for all flights.
  • Monitor crew availability, qualifications, and legal requirements to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with various departments, such as Operations and Flight Operations, to ensure seamless planning and execution of crew schedules.
  • Analyze crew utilization and performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans.
  • Manage crew training schedules and qualifications to maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to address crew scheduling issues, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes related to crew planning and control.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on crew planning metrics, performance, and compliance.
  • Participate in meetings and working groups related to crew planning, and represent the department in discussions with stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in crew planning and scheduling within the aviation industry.
  • Proficiency in crew scheduling software and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
