The Lead Procurement Engineer plays a strategic role in managing and overseeing all procurement activities for engineering projects, ensuring that materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with technical specifications. Operating within a dynamic and deadline-driven environment, the role involves vendor management, cost control, and coordination with engineering, planning, and project teams to support timely project execution. This position is critical to maintaining procurement compliance with UAE laws and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Leading the end-to-end procurement process for engineering projects, from requisition to delivery.
Reviewing technical specifications and ensuring materials and services align with project requirements.
Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying suppliers and subcontractors, both locally and internationally.
Managing tendering processes, including RFQs, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
Collaborating with engineering and project teams to forecast material needs and optimize sourcing strategies.
Monitoring supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Ensuring all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant UAE regulations.
Maintaining accurate procurement records, including contracts, vendor databases, and delivery schedules.
Assisting in resolving supply chain issues, including delays, non-conformance, and disputes.
Contributing to cost-saving initiatives, risk management strategies, and supplier development efforts.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 7–10 years of procurement experience in engineering or construction sectors, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of technical procurement, project management processes, and contract administration.
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software; SAP or Oracle experience is preferred.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor relationship management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and cost awareness.
Knowledge of UAE sourcing practices, logistics regulations, and customs procedures.
