Job Description

A Key Account Manager (FMCG) responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with key clients, typically large retailers or distribution partners. This role focuses on maximizing sales, revenue, and market share by understanding client needs, developing tailored solutions, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure successful execution.


Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, understanding their business goals and aligning FMCG offerings to meet their needs.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and trusted advisor for clients, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets, revenue growth, and market share expansion within assigned key accounts.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to introduce new products or product lines.
  • Create comprehensive account plans outlining sales objectives, strategies, tactics, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align resources and support the execution of account plans.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with key accounts, ensuring both parties' interests are balanced.
  • Ensure contract compliance and resolve any contractual issues that may arise.
  • Gather market intelligence, competitor analysis, and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Use insights to tailor solutions that address client challenges and capitalize on market trends.
  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and distribution teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of client initiatives.
  • Provide input to product development based on client feedback and market demands.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, tracking performance against targets and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Generate regular reports on sales activity, market trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Address any challenges or concerns raised by key accounts promptly and effectively.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide product training and support to key accounts, ensuring they have the knowledge needed to effectively promote and sell FMCG products.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications may be beneficial.
  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in key account management within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics, distribution channels, and consumer behavior.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building rapport with clients and internal teams.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute account plans.
  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret market data and performance metrics.
  • Negotiation skills to establish win-win agreements with clients.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales targets and client satisfaction.
  • Adaptability to changing market conditions and client needs.
