Junior Java Developer

The Junior Java Developer will support the development, testing, and maintenance of Java-based applications, contributing to both front-end and back-end components under the guidance of senior developers. This entry-level role offers exposure to enterprise-level projects in a collaborative and fast-paced development environment. The position requires basic programming knowledge, eagerness to learn, and adherence to best coding practices and UAE data protection standards.

Responsibilities:

• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented Java code for assigned features and modules.

• Assisting in the development and debugging of server-side logic and user-facing elements.

• Participating in code reviews and incorporating feedback to improve software quality.

• Supporting the integration of APIs, third-party libraries, and backend services.

• Executing unit tests and identifying bugs or performance bottlenecks in collaboration with QA teams.

• Maintaining technical documentation related to design specifications and development changes.

• Collaborating with team members in agile/scrum environments to meet sprint goals and deadlines.

• Ensuring data security and privacy are maintained in compliance with UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Up to 2 years of hands-on experience with Java development; internship or academic project experience is acceptable.

• Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, or JSP.

• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), and version control systems like Git.

• Good problem-solving and debugging skills with a willingness to learn and adapt.

• Exposure to software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.

• UAE residency or eligibility to work in the UAE is mandatory.
