Job Description

The IT Support Assistant provides technical assistance to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up and maintaining IT equipment, and assisting with network administration. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of IT support processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.


Responsibilities:

  • provide first-line technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues

  • install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other IT peripherals

  • assist in setting up and managing user accounts, email configurations, and access controls

  • troubleshoot and resolve technical problems through remote and on-site support

  • maintain IT asset inventory, ensuring proper documentation and tracking of equipment

  • support software installations, updates, and patch management to ensure system security

  • collaborate with IT teams to support server maintenance, backups, and network troubleshooting

  • educate and train users on best IT practices, cybersecurity awareness, and proper system usage

  • escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or vendors when necessary

  • ensure compliance with company IT policies and security protocols


Requirements:

  • diploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field

  • proven experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support roles

  • knowledge of Windows, macOS, and basic networking principles

  • familiarity with IT service management and ticketing systems

  • ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently

  • strong communication and customer service skills

  • basic knowledge of cybersecurity best practices

  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • willingness to work flexible hours and respond to IT emergencies when needed
