Infection Control Officer

As an Infection Control Officer, your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs within healthcare settings. You will be responsible for assessing potential risks, developing policies and procedures, training staff, and ensuring compliance with infection control guidelines and regulations. Your knowledge of infectious diseases, understanding of best practices, and ability to analyze data will contribute to the safe and hygienic environment for both patients and healthcare workers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures in healthcare facilities.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential sources of infection and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Train and educate healthcare personnel on infection prevention and control practices.
• Monitor compliance with infection control guidelines and regulations.
• Investigate and report infections or outbreaks to relevant authorities.
• Collaborate with other healthcare departments to ensure coordination in infection control efforts.
• Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to reduce infection rates.
• Stay updated with emerging infectious diseases, new treatment protocols, and infection control recommendations.
• Liaise with external agencies and organizations to stay informed about changes in infection control practices.
• Promote awareness and education among patients, visitors, and staff regarding infection prevention.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or a related field.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is preferred.
• Proven experience in infection control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of infectious diseases, epidemiology, and infection control practices.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to infection prevention and control.
