Job Description

An Infection Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing infection prevention and control programs in healthcare settings. They are responsible for developing policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections and ensure patient and staff safety. The role requires a strong understanding of infection control practices, regulations, and guidelines. Infection Control Managers monitor and analyze data to identify potential risks and areas for improvement. They also provide education and training to healthcare staff to promote best practices in infection control.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control practices, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential infection risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze infection control data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to educate and train on infection control best practices.
  • Respond to and investigate outbreaks or clusters of infections.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in infection control.
  • Manage the procurement and maintenance of infection control equipment and supplies.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, microbiology, or a related field.
  • Certification in infection prevention and control (CIC) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in infection control management in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control practices, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare staff and other stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Proficient in using computer software and data analysis tools.
