Job Description

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization's compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, and developing emergency response plans. The HSE Manager is responsible for promoting a culture of safety within the organization by providing training to employees, investigating incidents, and recommending corrective actions. They collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, the HSE Manager stays up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends to continuously improve the organization's HSE performance. Ideal candidates for this role have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of HSE regulations. A degree in occupational health and safety or a related field is typically required, along with several years of relevant experience in a similar role.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
  • Provide HSE training and education to employees to promote a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to HSE activities, including incident reports, training records, and permits.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with HSE requirements and standards.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills to prepare for potential disasters or emergencies.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, regulations, and trends in HSE to continuously improve the organization's programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to address potential incidents or disasters.
  • Collaborate with management to set HSE performance objectives and targets, and track progress towards achieving them.

  • Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management or related role.
  • Strong knowledge of local and federal safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
